Will IPS Cells Obliterate Embryonic Stem Cell Debate?
Induced pluripotent stem (IPS) cells can be created from simple skin cells using methods pioneered by Japanese scientist Shinya Yamanaka that circumvent the need for destroying human embryos. This remarkable breakthrough should end the embryonic stem cell debate. That is if the goal is curing patients without sacrificing other human beings.
"While politicians and citizens debated the morality of using embryonic cells, Yamanaka, a professor at Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan, developed a technology that may make the argument moot. Yamanaka, who has two daughters, started his effort 10 years ago, after peering at a tiny embryo through a microscope and reflecting that it might form a child if it wasn’t used to make stem cells, he said in an interview. Yes You Will!
A sobering article by Mark Steyn appeard last week in his syndicated column describing how the youngest generation will turn out to be the "Brokest Generation."
Since the "youth vote" helped push the teleprompter president over the top last November I am not feeling particularly charitable to them at this time. Indeed, it will be a tough lesson to absorb as they grow into their responsibility. It will also be interesting to see how "cool" they think he is once they start paying the bills.
"... they did stand around behind Barack Obama at all those campaign rallies helping him look dynamic and telegenic and earnestly chanting hopey-hopey-changey-changey. And 'Yes, we can!'"
On the other hand my children were not old enough to vote, but they (and perhaps even unborn generations) will certainly have to shoulder the Obama boondoggle as much as those who willing walked into this nightmare.

Free Market Health Care Epiphany
A recent Washington Post article offers some interesting advice to health care consumers...
"By comparison shopping and negotiating the best price on health-care services and medications -- the same tactics you would use for any other major purchase -- you can trim your bills."
Go figure, you mean if we reintroduce market forces into health care costs will decrease? Do you think someone should inform the Obama administration and Congress?
