Strenuous Aging

A Canadian study indicates that 90 minutes of simple aerobic activity-- such as walking -- along with 60 minutes of resistance exercise can help the elderly maintain a healthy metabolism and the ability to remain independent.

Commenting on the study, Professor Robert H. Unger from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas state what is obvious to SL readers "The reason you have muscle is to move around,...not to sit still all your life. And you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out."
