Strenuous Living Reduces Breast Cancer Risk
Researchers followed over 32,000 post-menopausal women in the United States for 11 years, monitoring them for physical activity and the development of breast cancer. They found that non-overweight women who participated in 1.2 hours per day of vigorous physical activity were at a significantly lesser risk for breast cancer. Vigorous activity included such things as heavy housework and/or yard work, competitive tennis, running, bicycling on hilly terrain, aerobics and other fast dancing.
