Physical Activity for the Brain and Soul
This comes as no surprise to me, but researchers from Finland have reported in the journal Exercise and Science in Sports and Exercise that sedentary behavior in adolescents (less than 1 hour per week of moderate to vigorous activity) was associated with emotional and behavioral problems. Symptoms displayed by physically inactive teenagers included anxiety, withdrawal, depression, sleep abnormalities and difficulties paying attention. The study involved more than 7000 school boys and girls.
