Researchers in Germany have transformed human testicular cells into cells with very similar capabilities to embryonic stem cells. That is the ability to transform into multiple cell types if given appropriate signals in culture. The hits just keep coming. Indeed, one stem cell expert commenting on the study to WebMD noted that "We have plenty of adult stem cells that seem to be very promising for future treatments..." Hopefully, we can put this whole idea that cures will only come as a result of sacrificing embryonic human life to rest once and for all.
