An Inconvenient Policy
Maggie Gallagher calls out the ambivalence of the politically correct Western elites regarding China’s one child policy today at Townhall. More accurately, China’s forced one live child birth policy. Forced, as in government directed physical restraint of a woman in order to abort her wanted child… Come on everyone chant with me sing-song “Every child, a wanted child…” Yes, these are the same bunch of know-it-alls that spin out of control if some gutter creep terrorist is roughed up a bit in Guantanamo in order to obtain information that might prevent the slaughter of dozens, hundreds or even thousands of innocent people.
"Tibetan Buddhists have their friends in Hollywood, and the international human rights community still frowns on torturing political activists. But China's brutal oppression of women's bodies and basic disrespect for human life generates a collective yawn in the Western human rights community. "
Indeed, where is the "pro-choice" outrage? Certainly, their passion for a “woman's right to choose” should be unleashed in all its fury against such an obvious violation of their mantra. Or, could it be that us pro-life simpletons had it right all along? Could it be that they are pro-choice as long as the choice is abortion? In fact, I would venture to guess that there are more than a few "pro-choice" out there that would love to implement a similar no-choice policy in the United States.
