Huge Victory for Life

The line has been drawn at infanticide. You can no longer murder a child as it is emerging from the birth canal. The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that the federal government can protect newborns from the brutal practice of partial birth abortion. This decision clearly reflects the will of the people and is consistent with the founders’ intentions for the Constitution. No doubt about it, this is a huge pro-life victory even if the total number of lives saved may be relatively few compared to the total number of unborn children being exterminated. The new reality is that the pro-abortion industry is no longer untouchable. The tide has turned and the darkest of dark days are behind us. Moreover, by surveying the responses of presidential hopefuls to the court’s decision the extremists are clearly identified. Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Barack Obama have each exposed the extent to which they will stoop to placate their rabid pro-abortion supporters. Their statements deriding the decision should be remembered and repeated until enough of the electorate realizes the importance of electing a President in ’08 who will insure that federal judges interested in upholding the Constitution and not legislating their radical agenda from the bench are selected. Without President Bush's outstanding judicial appointments this important decision may have been lost.
